STERN LEADS THE WAY

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a certification developed by the USBCG (United

States Green Building Council) – an organization dedicated to environmentally conscious construction. The

LEED certification encourages sustainable building practices and promotes environmental preservation.

Among the key issues measured by the organization are water and energy efficiency.

The certification is based on a points system, with a minimum of 2 points awarded for a 25% water usage

reduction, with a maximum of 6 points for a 50% reduction. The USBCG applies its LEED certification points

system to a wide variety of construction projects: commercial buildings, office buildings, schools, hospitals,

hotels, and more.

With water conservation as one of our main goals, Stern has developed a line of products with extremely high

water efficiency. Our products provide a minimum of 30% water reduction (worth 4 points) and up to to 58%

water reduction (worth 6 points). Stern products are the best way for any construction project to achieve the

highest score in the water efficiency category of the LEED certificate.
