A SHARED WORLD OF IDEAS AND COLOURS

When Peter J. Lassen, the founder of Montana, first met the young Danish

architect Verner Panton in 1956, neither of them was aware that this would

be the beginning of a close friendship and life-long collaboration.

Between them arose a constant dialogue about design in which

their shared world of ideas was surrounded by a great mutual

respect. The result was a large number of interesting and inno-

vative pieces of furniture designed by Verner Panton. They were

brought to life through a passion for design with form, creativity

and functionality as the driving forces – not to mention an ap-

proach to colours, which was unique at the time; Panton’s use of

colours has been a great source of inspiration for the foundation

of Montana’s colour universe.

The strong bond and shared history between Verner Panton and

Peter J. Lassen has made it a natural choice for Montana to man-

ufacture several of Verner Panton’s designs – now also including

the Pantonova modular wire seating from 1971. Please enjoy the

results of this unique collaboration.
