ANAEROBIC PERCOLATING FILTERS EMILIA ROMAGNA/UMBRIA
Ø400
Ø
Handling by forklNiftot for drinking water
Secondary treatment of residential black water.
Aerobic percolating filters are to be installed downstream of the IMHOFF tank
in order to allow the drain of purified water directly into the ground through sub-
irrigation, or directly into a water course, without the risk of polluting the
environment.
Operation:
This type of biological treatment system consists of a fixed bed of plastic media
over which sewage or other wastewater flows downward and causes a layer of
microbial slime (biofilm) to grow, covering the bed of media.
The biomass growing on the media brakes down organic matter under
anaerobic conditions. The wastewater is sprayed on top of the filter and trickles
through the media. After some time, microorganisms start to grow attached on
the filter media, forming a biofilm.
ELBI Trickling filters are designed for a daily flow of 200 lt. / P.E. and daily
