Una miscela di granelli fonde a 1400°, riposa per ore fino all’azione delle canne da levata

dei maestri vetrai che estraggono l’impasto, lo soffiano fino alle pareti dello stampo.

Nasce la forma che renderà ogni oggetto simile, ma non uguale. Prima temperato per la

prima severa selezione di qualità, poi sottoposto alla lavorazione a freddo.

Nel cristallo, rispetto al vetro, vi è l’ossido di piombo che conferisce una rifrazione della

luce che si avvicina alle proprietà ottiche del diamante ed una malleabilità del manufatto

che ne permette l’incisione.

Sono quindi i molatori che segano, nastrano, forano, levigano il pezzo; a loro volta i

maestri incisori con le mole diamantate realizzano le decorazioni e le sfaccettature

alleate della lucentezza e della duttilità.

La presenza di bolle interne evidenzia l’artigianalità del prodotto e non sono da

considerare un difetto.
