An der Achalm | A celebration of the horizontal.

The site already offers magnificent views to the valley

and to the slopes on the opposite side. One can even

see the Schönberg Tower, which was built according

to plans by Theodor Fischer in 1905 at the Albtrauf in

the neighbouring town of Pfullingen. The powerful

appearance of the tower with two white soaring vertical

sections partly inspired the basic idea for the residence.

The white cubes of the “Haus an der Achalm” were,

however, turned through 90 degrees and thus turned

into a celebration of the horizontal.

The Liberty Diamond was choosen to cover the outside

pool whose orientation follows and references to the

sculptural volumes of the house.

Il luogo dove sorge, offre una magnifica vista sulla valle

e sul versante opposto. Da qui si può vedere la Torre

Schönberg, che è stata costruita su progetto di Theodor

Fischer nel 1905 nella vicina città di Pfullingen. L’aspetto

della torre, con le due svettanti e bianche sezioni verticali,

ha in parte ispirato l’idea di base per questa residenza. I

cubi bianchi della “Haus an der Achalm” sono stati, tuttavia,

ruotati di 90° gradi e quindi trasformati in una celebrazione

dell’orizzontale.

Come rivestimento, per la piscina esterna, è stato scelto

il Liberty Diamond, colore che segue e richiama i volumi

scultorei della casa.
