LoRa è una tecnologia radio LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) che

consente la trasmissione radio a lungo raggio per diversi tipi di oggetti, con un

consumo energetico modesto.

LoRa opera in banda libera sub-Gigahertz e consente la trasmissione in un raggio

di circa dieci chilometri in linea d’aria. La struttura della rete prevede l’esistenza

di almeno un gateway LoRa, che copre un’ampia area in grado di gestire migliaia

di endpoint (contatori, cassonetti della spazzatura, lampioni stradali, sensori di

parcheggio, ...), raccogliendo i loro dati e caricandoli poi sul Cloud.

LoRa is a LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) radio technology that enables

long range transmission for objects with modest power consumption.

LoRa acts in the free sub-Gigahertz band, and allows transmission in the order of

10 kilometers over the air. The structure of the network provide the existence of at

least a LoRa gateway covering a wide area, able to manage thousands end points

(meters, waste bins, street lights, parking sensors,...), collecting data from them

and uploading to the Cloud.
