1. Prima di cominciare

Prima di cominciare con l’installazione del prodotto è im-

portante che leggiate le seguenti istruzioni. Con l’inizio

della posa dichiarate di aver letto e compreso i requisiti e

le responsabilità di installazione e siete consapevoli che il

non rispetto di dette indicazioni potrebbe risultare il venir

meno della garanzia del prodotto. Lo SmartCore deve esse-

re posato solo dopo che gli altri operatori hanno terminato

il loro lavoro ed il cantiere liberato da tutti gli oggetti che

potrebbero danneggiare il prodotto.

Attenzione!

È responsabilità del posatore e/o del proprietario di veri-

ficare le condizioni di posa. Nell’eventualità che vengano

rilevate anomalie nel prodotto o nel sottofondo si racco-

manda di non procedere all’installazione ma di contatta-

re immediatamente il fornitore per assistenza. Il prodotto,

una volta posato, si considera ispezionato, approvato ed

accettato. Il pavimento è garantito per la posa in locali

chiusi che rispettino la variazione di temperatura richie-

sta, non installatelo all’esterno. In fase di conteggio delle

quantità necessarie vi consigliamo di considerare un 10%

extra per tagli, sprechi e difetti. Lo SmartCore deve essere

portato nella stanza in cui verrà posato 24-48 ore prima,

stoccando le doghe in orizzontale su una superficie piana

nelle sue confezioni in piccole pile ordinate da massimo 5

pacchi ciascuna. La temperatura della stanza deve essere

mantenuta costante tra i 18-25 °C. La pavimentazione in-

stallata dovrà prevedere spazi di dilatazione ≥ 2,5 mm su

tutto il perimetro.

Condizioni del sottofondo

Assicuratevi che il vostro sottofondo sia piano, liscio,

asciutto, pulito, solido, privo di grassi o crepe e che possa

mantenere nel tempo queste caratteristiche. L’assorben-

za deve essere controllata e regolata, in modo da avere un

sottofondo moderatamente assorbente, potrebbe essere

necessario utilizzare un primer e/o un rasante. Durante la

posa, la temperatura ambientale deve essere di almeno

18°C e va mantenuta per un minimo di 2 giorni dopo l’ul-

timazione dei lavori. Qualsiasi residuo presente sull’area di

posa deve essere eliminato aspirando polvere e detriti. In

caso di posa su un sottofondo esistente in ceramica sarà

necessario trattare il fondo con un detergente aggressivo

(soda caustica o altro), carteggiare la superficie e poi aspi-

rare per rimuovere polvere e detriti, dopodiché andrà steso

un primer a rullo per poi procedere alla rasatura piano di

posa. In caso di utilizzo di un livellante, questo andrà scelto

in funzione del traffico a cui sarà sottoposta la pavimenta-

zione (consultare la norma EN 12529). La superficie deve

essere piana entro una tolleranza di 2 mm su una lunghez-

za di 1.2 m, se così non fosse deve essere livellata oppure

riempita per ottenere tale dato. Tutte le irregolarità, buchi o

protuberanze del sottofondo superiori ad 1 mm e lunghe più

di 20 cm o superiori a 2 mm e lunghe più di 1 metro devono

essere eliminate, rasate e/o livellate. Nonostante il fatto

che lo SmartCore sia resistente all’acqua non deve essere

considerato una barriera all’umidità. Il massetto deve rien-

trare nei parametri di umidità determinati dalla norma, per

cui entro il 2% per i sottofondi in calcestruzzo. In caso di

posa su sottofondi non cantinati o privi di vespaio areato, è

necessario effettuare un’impermeabilizzazione prima della

gettata del massetto. Non posate lo SmartCore SV2 su su-

perfici morbide, come moquette o materassini. Attenzione!

Le doghe di SmartCore provenienti da produzioni diverse

possono talvolta presentare leggere variazioni di colo-

re. Prima di procedere alla posa vi consigliamo pertanto d

controllare il numero di produzione sui pacchi, e se fossero

diversi di mischiare doghe provenienti da pacchi diversi così

che la posa dia un effetto naturale.

2. Metodo di posa

Per una corretta installazione ricordatevi di leggere le in-

dicazioni sopra descritte riguardanti il sottofondo. Misu-

rate la larghezza della stanza; dividete questo numero per

la larghezza della doga in modo da collocare la prima fila

con una larghezza che permetta che l’ultima fila abbia una

larghezza superiore o uguale a 10cm e che in corrisponden-

za di porte e angoli le doghe tagliate non siano più corte

di mezza doga tagliata. Posate il pavimento assicurandovi

di lasciare ≥ 2,5 mm di spazio su tutti i lati. Questo spazio

permette i piccoli movimenti del pavimento. Si consiglia di

utilizzare dei distanziali per mantenere i 2,5 mm di distanza

con il muro. La superficie massima installabile senza giunti

di dilatazione è di 200m2, la lunghezza massima è di 20

metri lineari, dopodiché andranno previsti 5 mm di spa-

zio per la dilatazione. Per iniziare la seconda fila utilizzate

il pezzo rimanente dal taglio dell’ultima doga della prima

fila, sempre che questo sia più lungo di 30 cm; altrimenti

tagliate una doga a metà e procedete. Per assicurare un’in-

tegrità strutturale mantenete sempre una distanza di 20

cm tra le teste tra le varie file. Incollare il pavimento posi-

zionando le doghe con i lati bene a contatto e utilizzando

un collante apposito (Ultrabond ECO MS 4LVT o equiva-

lente idoneo) e rispettando i modi e tempi di lavorazione e

asciugatura dell’adesivo secondo le indicazioni dei fabbri-

canti. In alcuni casi, quali variazioni di temperature signi-

ficative, traffico intenso, fondo poco assorbente potrebbe

essere necessario l’utilizzo di un adesivo bi-componente. A

seconda del collante utilizzato e dell’assorbenza del fondo

di posa, andrà utilizzata una spatola A1 o A2; un eccesso

di adesivo potrebbe passare tra le doghe e arrivare sulla

superficie. Incollare le doghe al sottofondo adagiandole a

stretto contatto senza lasciare fughe. Per assicurare l’ade-

sione e la planarità, passare un rullo pesante in entrambe

le direzioni oltre alla pressione manuale esercitata in fase

di posa (in genere entro 30 minuti dalla posa). Al termine

della posa rimuovete i distanziatori e pulite il pavimento

immediatamente. Attendere almeno 4 ore prima di cam-

minare sulla pavimentazione. Non sottoporre il pavimento

appena installato ad un traffico intenso con ruote o rotelle.

Mobilio pesante potrà essere posizionato solamente dopo

24 ore dall’incollaggio.

3. Posa su pavimento radiante

Il pavimento SmartCore può essere usato su pavimenti

radianti ad acqua seguendo le istruzioni precedentemen-

te indicate, esclusivamente nel caso in cui la temperatura

superficiale (livello adesivo sul lato inferiore del pavimento

SmartCore) non superi i 27°C. Vi consigliamo in ogni caso

di consultarvi con il fornitore dell’impianto a riscaldamento

per assicurarvi che sia compatibile con il pavimento vinilico.

Fate attenzione a non sottoporre il vostro pavimento a forti

sbalzi di temperatura in quanto ne potrebbe compromet-

tere la stabilità. Assicurarsi che l’impianto di riscaldamen-

to a pavimento sia spento 48 ore prima dell’inizio dell’in-

stallazione del pavimento e che rimanga spento fino a 48

ore dopo l’ultimazione della posa, dopodiché potrà esse-

re attivato gradualmente (5°C al giorno). La temperatura

in fase di posa andrà mantenuta comunque tra i 15-26°C

eventualmente con una fonte di riscaldamento alternativa.

4. Cura e manutenzione

• Pulire utilizzando una scopa o un’aspirapolvere con

setole morbide

• Asciugare eventuali liquidi rovesciati

• lnumidire lo straccio ed utilizzare prodotti indicati

per la pulizia di pavimenti vinilici senza cere (no-wax;

detergenti neutri, si consiglia l’utilizzo del pulitore Smart

Cleaner)

• Proteggereilpavimentodaunadirettaesposizionealsole

• Utilizzare delle protezioni, come ad esempio i feltrini sotto i mobili

ed uno zerbino all’ingresso della casa

• Utilizzare sedie a rotelle da ufficio con ruote di tipo W e prevedere

pannelli extra protettivi per prevenire i graffi.

• Tenendo animali in casa, assicurare che le loro unghie vengano

regolarmente tagliate

• Non utilizzare pulitori abrasivi, ammoniaca o cera per la

Before starting with the installation, it is important that you read

all the instructions information. By starting with the installation,

you are declaring that you have read and understood all installa-

tion requirements and responsibilities and that you are aware that

failure to comply with these indications could result in the product

warranty being void. SmartCore needs to be installed only after all

operators have finished their work and when all objects that may

damage the product have been removed from site.

Attention! It is the installer and/or owner’s responsibility to verify

the installation requirements. In the event of any anomality or fault

in the product subfloor you must not proceed with the installation

but contact you supplier for assistance. The product, once laid, is

considered inspected, approved and accepted. The flooring is sui-

table for indoors with a required temperature range, do not install

outdoors. When calculating the necessary quantities we advise you

to consider an extra 10% for cuts, wastes or defects. You should

bring SmartCore on site at least 24-48 hours before installation.

During this time, the planks must remain in their cartons and on a

smooth surface. The temperature of the room must be kept betwe-

en 18-25 °C. The flooring must be installed with expansions gaps

≥2,5mm on all the perimeter.

Subfloor conditions

Make sure that the laying surface is levelled, smooth, dry, clean, so-

lid, free from grease or cracks and that it can maintain these cha-

racteristics over time. The absorbency must be controlled and adju-

sted, so as to have a moderately absorbent substrate, you may need

to use a primer and/or shaving. During installation, the environment

temperature must be at least 18 oC and must be maintained for a

minimum of 2 days after the end of the work. Any residue present

on the laying area must be eliminated. In case of installation on an

existing ceramic substrate it will be necessary to treat the bottom

with an aggressive detergent (caustic soda or other), sand the sur-

face and then vacuum to remove dust and debris, then a roller pri-

mer must be spread to proceed with the shaving of the floor area.

In the case of the use of a leveller, it should be chosen according to

the traffic to which the pavement will be subjected (see EN 12529).

The surface must be flat within a tolerance of 2 mm over a length

of 1.2 m, if this is not the case it must be levelled or filled to obtain

this data. All the irregularities, holes or bumps in the substrate gre-

ater than 1 mm and longer than 20cm or greater than 2 mm and

longer than 1.2 m shall be removed, shaved and/or levelled. Despite

the fact that SmartCore is waterproof it should not be considered

a moisture barrier. The screed must fall within the humidity para-

meters determined by the norm, therefore within 2% in the case of

traditional cementitious screed and 1.7% with radiant screed.

In case of installation on a subfloor without crawl space is necessary

to make a waterproof sealing before layingthe screed. Do not lay the

SmartCore SV2 on soft surfaces, such as carpet or mats. Attention!

Planks of SmartCore from different productions can sometimes pre-

sent slight color variations. Before laying, wetherefore advise you to

check the production number on the packages, and if they are dif-

ferent to mix planks from different packages so that the laying gives

a natural effect.

2. Installation method

For a correct installation, it is important to read the instructions

mentioned above about the subfloor. Measure the width of the

room; divide this number by the width of the plank so as to place

the first row with a width that allows the last row to have a width

greater or equal to 10cm and that in correspondence of doors and

corners the planks are not shorter than half a plank. Lay the floor

making sure to leave 2,5 mm of space on all sides. This space allows

for small floor movements.

We recommend using spacers to keep the 2,5 mm from the wall. The

maximum area that can be installed without expansion joints is 200

m2, the maximum length is 20 linear meters, after which 5 mm of

space will be provided for expansion.

To start the second row use the remaining piece from the cut of the

last plank of the first row, provided that this is longer than 30cm;

otherwise cut a new plank in half and proceed. To ensure structural

integrity, always keep a distance of 20 cm between the heads and

the rows. Glue the floor by placing the planks well in contact with

the one on the sides and using a special adhesive (UltrabondECO

MS 4LVT or any suitable equivalent) and respecting the ways and

times of working and drying of the adhesive according to the manu-

facturers’ indications. In some cases, such as significant tempera-

ture changes, heavy traffic, low absorbent bottom you may require

the use of a two-component adhesive. Depending on the adhesive

used and the absorbency of the floor, a spatula A1 or A2 should be

used; an excess of glue could pass between the planks and reach the

surface. Glue the planks to the subfloor laying them in close contact

without leaving any spaces. To ensure adhesion and flatness, pass

a heavy roller in both directions in addition to the manual pressu-

re exerted during installation (usually within 30 minutes of laying).

At the end of laying remove spacers and clean the floor immedia-

tely. Wait at least 4 hours before walking on the pavement. Do not

subject the newly installed floor to heavy traffic with wheels. Heavy

furniture can only be placed after 24 hours of gluing.

3. Laying on floor heating systems

SmartCore floors can be used on heating system following the in-

structions above, only if the subfloor temperature does not exceed

27°C. We advise you to consult with the supplier of the heating sy-

stem to ensure that it is compatible with the floor. Be careful not to

expose your floor to extreme temperature fluctuations as this may

compromise its stability. Ensure that the underfloor heating system

is switched off 48 hours before the start of the floor installation and

that it remains off until 48 hours after the installation is finished,

after which it can be activated gradually (5°C per day). In any case,

the temperature during installation should be maintained between

15-26 oC with an alternative heating source.

4. Care and maintenance

• Clean using a vacuum cleaner or broom with soft bristles.

• Dry any spilled liquids.

• Moisten the cloth and use the recommended products for clea-

ning without waxes (no wax; neutral detergents, we recommend

the use of the cleaner Smart Cleaner).

• Protect the floor from direct exposure to the sun without appro-

priate curtains.

• Use protections, such as felt pads under furniture and a doormat

at the entrance of the house.

• Ensure that castor chairs are equipped with rubber type W wheels

as per UNI EN 425.

• In the case of pets, make sure that their nails are regularly cut.

• Do not use abrasive, ammonia or wax cleaners for floor mainte-

nance.

• Do not pull or slide heavy objects along the floor.

• Avoid leaving rubber objects in support that could leave marks on

the floor
