L’uomo conosce da millenni il potere evocativo della linea, il
segno grafico più semplice che l’arte conosca. Una linea può
diventare moltissime cose: contorno della materia, chiave di
volta tra la seconda e la terza dimensione; margine tra ciò che
è e non è. La linea è uno strumento figurativo che non è niente,
ma evoca il tutto.
Moltissime sono state le correnti artistiche che nel passato
si sono lasciate affascinare dalle potenzialità espressive di
questo elemento: dai graffiti rupestri al bauhaus, passando per
il Kintsugi e l’op-art. Lo studio di architettura storagemilano,
chiamato da Ceramica Bardelli a collaborare a una nuova
collezione di piastrelle, ha scelto proprio la linea come segno
distintivo di Lines.
Lines è una serie di piastrelle in gres porcellanato ultra matt,
adatta per un utilizzo a pavimento e rivestimento. La collezione,
caratterizzata da tagli di grandi dimensioni è disponibile in due
formati - 60x60 e 60x120 cm - tre famiglie di colore - grigio
chiaro, antracite e fango - e due finiture differenti. Le finiture
sono ciò che differenziano Lines da ogni altra serie di piastrelle:
oltre alla versione base effetto “cemento”, Lines è disponibile con
un decoro a mattoncino in rilievo che richiama l’irregolarità
del fatto a mano, ideale per una collocazione residenziale e un
utilizzo tradizionale - come una doccia o una base pensile - o più
audace - come quinta scenica in un salotto.
Come nella migliore tradizione Ceramica Bardelli, la collezione
è stata ulteriormente arricchita da una variante decorata, tramite
tecniche artigianali: un prezioso listello metallico in ottone
satinato o acciaio, viene inserito manualmente all’interno
della superficie smaltata di entrambe le finiture, rendendo
esclusiva e preziosa ogni singola piastrella. Il decoro, oltre a
essere l’elemento che da il nome alla collezione, contribuisce a
creare una tensione materica e un gioco grafico, che valorizzano
ulteriormente il rivestimento.

Human beings have known and used the evocative power of
the line, the simplest graphic symbol in art, for thousands of
years. A line can become a lot of things: the outline of matter,
the keystone between the second and third dimension; the
border between what is and what is not. Line is a figurative tool
that is nothing, but evokes everything.
Numerous artistic currents have allowed themselves to be
fascinated by the element’s expressive potential, from rock
carvings to the Bauhaus, Kintsugi and Op-art. When Ceramica
Bardelli asked the architects of storagemilano to work on a
new tile collection, they made line the distinguishing feature
of the Lines collection.
Lines is a series of ultra matt porcelain tiles for use on the
floor and walls. The collection is characterised by a choice of
two large sizes - 60x60 and 60x120 cm - three colour families
- light grey, anthracite and mud - and two different finishes.
The finishes are what makes Lines different from any other tile
series: in addition to the basic “cement” effect version, Lines is
available with a brick pattern in relief recalling the irregularity
of handmade bricks, perfect for residential projects and
traditional uses - such as a shower or the base for cabinets - or
bolder applications such as the backdrop for a living room.
In the best Ceramica Bardelli tradition, the collection is
further enriched with a variant decorated by traditional hand-
crafting techniques: a prestigious matt brass strip or steel strip
is manually incorporated in the enamelled surface of both
finishes, adding an exclusive precious touch to every single tile.
Decoration not only gives the collection its name, but helps
create material tension and graphic effects further underlining
coverings.
Like all storagemilano creations, Lines has a bold architectural
character, making it a highly decorative tile collection that can
be adapted to contract and non-residential projects. The brass
