Il tronco, dopo il taglio in foresta che avviene da settembre ad aprile, viene portato in

segheria. Qui avviene la prima lavorazione: il taglio in tavole con la listellatura e la

conseguente stagionatura, per la quale è necessario un tempo di attesa anche fino a un

anno perché il tavolame sia pronto agli step successivi del processo di produzione.

Una media di un anno e mezzo fra la scelta del tronco e la mia vendita, che comporta una

gestione operativa sostenibile ma anche un’organizzazione aziendale particolare, con la

necessità di un magazzino di notevole entità: una sorta di “banca del legno” dalla quale

attingere di volta in volta a seconda delle richieste di mercato e dei tempi dettati dalla

natura.

Selection and storage

After the tree is felled in the forest, between September and April, the trunk is taken to

the sawmill. The first operations take place here: cutting into planks, then boards, which

undergo seasoning that can last as long as one year to prepare the boards for the next

steps in the production process. On average, a year and a half passes from choosing

the trunk to my sale. This period requires sustainable operational management but also

special company organisation that involves a large storage facility: a sort of ‘wood bank’

from which to withdraw material as and when needed to meet the requirements of the

market and observe the rhythm of nature.
