Interior Paint Standards
This technical guide examines the terminology and standards used to
classify interior paints.
Paints are more or less liquid mixtures of mostly artificial substances tha
t
form an adherent and continuous layer (film) on the surface of an objec
t
(substrate), the purpose of which is, on the one hand, to PROTECT agains
t
weathering and wear and, on the other hand, to DECORATE and add aes
-
thetic value.
Characteristics of interior products
The reference standard for the classification of water-based paints for in-
terior walls and ceilings is UNI EN 13300, which classifies them:

by their end use: a descriptive classification indicating whether th
e
product is intended for decoration or for specific uses

by the chemical nature of the binder: a descriptive classification in
which the chemical nature of the binder that is essential to the proper

ties of the product must be indicated
.

En esta guía técnica se examinarán las terminologías y las normativas utiliza

das para clasificar las Pinturas para Interiores. Las Pinturas son mezclas más
o menos fluidas de sustancias en su mayor parte artificiales que forman sobr
e
la superficie de un objeto (soporte) una capa adherente y continua (película)
cuya finalidad es, por un lado, PROTEGER contra los agentes atmosféricos y
el desgaste, y por otro DECORAR y proporcionar valencias estéticas
.
Características de los productos para interiore
s
La norma de referencia que clasifica los materiales para pintar al agu
a
paredes y techos interiores es la UNI EN 13300 que clasifica los productos
para pintar:

en función del uso final: clasificación descriptiva que indica si el pro

ducto utilizado está destinado a la decoración o a usos particulares
•
según la naturaleza química del aglutinante: clasificación descriptiva
en que se debe indicar la tipología química del aglutinante que deter-
mina las propiedades del producto
