A Vittorio Veneto, assieme

ad un gruppo di soci, Lino

Dei Tos apre “Italparchetti”,

azienda di pavimenti in legno

nella quale coinvolge diret-

tamente il figlio Patrizio in

qualità di agente, credendo

fortemente nelle sue capacità

imprenditoriali e spingendolo

ad iniziare la sua attività la-

vorativa prima appunto come

agente nella nuova azienda e

successivamente, da protago-

nista, nella “Labor Legno”.

Patrizio Dei Tos acquista un

terreno di diecimila metri qua-

drati a Cordignano, in pro-

vincia di Treviso, e fonda la

“Labor Legno snc di Dei Tos

Patrizio & C.”

1985 ⁄ 1986

Grazie all’esperienza lavora-

tiva di Patrizio Dei Tos come

agente di pavimenti, la “Labor

Legno” viene trasformata da

azienda produttrice di segato

grezzo ad azienda produttrice

di pavimenti in legno.

1987

Poco più che ventenne, Patri-

zio Dei Tos in soli sette anni

riesce a dare alla “Labor Le-

gno” una spinta notevole,

trasformandola in società per

azioni. L’azienda fin dalla sua

nascita guarda soprattutto

alla Francia per l’importazio-

ne del legno che, trasportato

in Italia, viene segato a Cor-

dignano nella vicina azienda

dei fratelli Zarpellon e suc-

cessivamente lavorato con la

multilame fino ad ottenere il

prodotto grezzo da rivendere

ai costruttori di ante per le cu-

cine, attività molto diffusa nel

territorio circostante, specie al

di là del confine friulano, in

provincia di Pordenone.

1988 ⁄ 1989

È il legno esotico in questo pe-

riodo ad avere la meglio fra i

consumatori. Patrizio Dei Tos

inizia a viaggiare molto alla ri-

cerca di un prodotto di buona

qualità. Nigeria, ex Zaire, Co-

sta d’Avorio, Congo e Came-

run sono i paesi africani in cui

“Labor Legno” è presente per

importare legno di primissima

qualità. L’azienda diventa un

punto di riferimento per que-

sto tipo di mercato.

1989

La chiusura delle esportazioni

dei tronchi costringe la messa

in vendita della segheria dei

fratelli Zarpellon, che viene

acquistata da Patrizio Dei Tos

in società con il padre Lino.

Nasce “Itlas”, acronimo di

Italparchetti Labor Legno Se-

gati. I macchinari della seghe-

ria, per far fronte al problema

della chiusura delle esporta-

zioni, vennero trasferiti in Ca-

merun.

1990

“Itlas” concentra la sua pro-

duzione sui pavimenti prefini-

ti, che nei primi anni Novanta

costituivano un prodotto dav-

vero innovativo per il merca-

to. Non esistevano ancora le

tecniche produttive assodate

per la realizzazione di questa

tipologia di pavimento, ma

l’azienda mette a punto il pro-

cesso produttivo idoneo grazie

all’esperienza maturata.

2000 ⁄ 2011

L’inizio del nuovo millennio

coincide con la liquidazione

dei soci di “Itlas” da parte di

Patrizio Dei Tos e con l’inizio

del lancio sul mercato di pro-

dotti prefiniti a due e tre stra-

ti di grande successo come i

progetti di “Tavole del Piave”,

“Legni del Doge” e “Assi del

Cansiglio”. Da questo mo-

mento la storia di “Itlas” è la

storia di una crescita costante

in un percorso dalle idee chia-

re e ben definite: il progetto

industriale e commerciale si

sviluppa in una coerenza di

pensiero che non lascia spa-

zio ai compromessi e che si

identifica nell’impegno di un

costante e irrinunciabile inve-

stimento sull’ambiente, sulla

salvaguardia, sulla sua prote-

zione.

2012 ⁄ 2017

Nascono nuovi progetti e

si aprono nuovi orizzonti.

Itlas crea e immette sul mer-

cato prima 5 Millimetri,

prodotto rivoluzionario per

concezione e filosofia, poi i

Massivi, collezione di mobili e

complementi d’arredo in mas-

sello di legno di quercia ideata

nel 2013 dall’architetto Marco

Casamonti e dallo Studio

Archea di Firenze, ai quali nel

2014 si uniscono le firme pre-

stigiose di Doriana e Massimi-

liano Fuksas. Nel 2015 nasce

Progetto Bagno, consentendo

all’azienda di affacciarsi con

sempre maggiore autorevo-

lezza sul mondo dell’arreda-

mento.

2019

Sostegno al territorio

I dieci anni del progetto Assi

del Cansiglio sono segnati, alla

fine del 2018, dalla Tempesta

Vaia. Un inferno di vento, ac-

qua e fango che danneggia pe-

santemente l’Antico Bosco da

Reme della Serenissima. Itlas

avvia una campagna di soste-

gno al territorio acquistando i

faggi caduti, pagandoli ad un

prezzo superiore al loro valo-

re di mercato e promuovendo

l’acquisto di un pavimento che

contribuisce alla rinascita del-

la foresta.

1980

At Vittorio Veneto Lino Dei

Tos and a group of partners

set up a wood flooring busi-

ness which he named ‘Ital-

parchetti’. His son Patrizio

was involved as an agent,

because the father firmly

believed in his son’s entre-

preneurship and wanted him

to gain work experience as

an agent for the newly for-

med company. Patrizio Dei

Tos later became the main

partner in ‘Labor Legno’,

for which he purchased ten

thousand square metres of

land at Cordignano, in the

province of Treviso to esta-

blish ‘Labor Legno snc di

Dei Tos Patrizio & C.’

1985 ⁄ 1986

Exploiting Patrizio Dei Tos’s

experience as an agent for

wood flooring, ‘Labor Legno’

was converted from a produ-

cer of sawn timber to a manu-

facturer of wood flooring.

1987

At just over twenty years

of age, in a mere seven ye-

ars Patrizio Dei Tos boosted

‘Labor Legno’ to become a

joint stock company. From

the start the company looked

mainly to France for its tim-

ber, which was imported into

Italy and sawn at Cordignano

in a nearby factory owned by

the Zarpellon brothers. It was

then processed by multi rip

saw to achieve an unfinished

product to supply to the many

kitchen furniture door ma-

nufacturers operating in the

area, particularly beyond the

Friuli borders in the province

of Pordenone.

1988 ⁄ 1989

At this time exotic wood

was the most popular with

consumers and Patrizio Dei

Tos began travelling to seek

good quality timber. Nigeria,

former Zaire, Ivory Coast,

Congo and Cameroon be-

came the African countries

from which ‘Labor Legno’

imported excellent quality

wood. The company became

the benchmark for this type

of market.

1989

The end of timber exports

caused the closing down of

the Zarpellon sawmill, which

was acquired by Patrizio Dei

Tos, together with his father

Lino. This was the beginning

of ‘Itlas’, an acronym of Ital-

parchetti Labor Legno Sega-

ti. The company’s machinery

was taken to Cameroon to

offset the end of the export

business.

1990

‘Itlas’ concentrated its pro-

duction on pre-finished flo-

oring, a truly innovative

product for the market of

the early nineties. Tried and

tested production methods

were not yet in place for this

type of flooring, but the com-

pany used its previous expe-

rience to establish a suitable

production process.

2000 ⁄ 2011

At the beginning of the new

millennium Patrizio Dei Tos

paid off the ‘Itlas’ sharehol-

ders and launched onto the

market highly successful two

and three layer pre-finished

products, such as ‘Tavole del

Piave’, ‘Legni del Doge’ and

‘Assi del Cansiglio’. From

then on the story of ‘Itlas’ has

been one of constant growth

and clear, well-defined ideas:

the industrial and commercial

project developed along cohe-

rent lines, shunning compro-

mise and committing itself

to constant, indispensable in-

vestment in safeguarding and

protecting the environment.

2012 ⁄ 2017

New projects have been cre-

ated and new horizons ope-

ned up. Itlas has created and

placed on the market, first of

all 5 Millimetri, a revolutio-

nary product in its concept

and philosophy, and then

“I Massivi”, a collection of

furniture and interior décor

items in solid oak, designed

in 2013 by architect Marco

Casamonti and the Floren-

ce Studio Archea, joined in

2014 by the famous designers

Doriana and Massimiliano

Fuksas. In 2015 its bathro-

om project (Progetto Bagno)

was created to give the com-

pany more clout in the furni-

ture industry.

2019

Supporting the territory

At the end of 2018 the ten

years of the Assi del Cansi-

glio project were marked by

the Vaia tempest; an inferno

of wind, water and mud that

caused serious damage to the

ancient Venetian Oar Forest.

Itlas set up a campaign to

support the territory by pur-

chasing the fallen beech trees

at a price above their market

value, and promoting sales of

flooring that contributes to

the forest’s rebirth.
