DAS FENSTER ZUM HOF

Das Apartment befindet sich im obersten Stockwerk im Eixample Viertel von Barcelona. Man hat den Blick

auf den Hof, was typisch für die Wohnungen in diesem Viertel ist. Es ist dem Architektenduo Acabado Mate

gelungen, den bestehenden langen Flur zu beleben. Mittels transparenter und undurchsichtiger Raumteiler

und einem wechselnden Bodenbelag entsteht eine neue Raumperspektive. Das Resultat ist ein urbaner

Rückzugsort, geschaffen durch Licht und Stille. Der Sessel FRIDAY 1 und das Beistelltischchen PLAISIR 1

sind in amerikanischem Nussbaum – der Farbton findet sich in den Rahmen der Verglasungen wieder.

THE WINDOW OVER THE COURTYARD

The apartment is on the top floor in Barcelona’s Eixample district. The view onto the courtyard

is typical for apartments in this district. The architect duo Acabado Mate has succeeded in revi-

ving the current long corridor. Using transparent and opaque room dividers and different flooring

they have created a new perspective of space. The result is an urban retreat created by light and

silence. The FRIDAY 1 armchair and PLAISIR 1 side table are made from American walnut; the

shade is reflected in the glazing frames.
