Das Kinderhaus Luftikus ist eine Pflegeeinrichtung für schwerstkranke Kinder, die beatmet werden müssen.
Durch den Einsatz natürlicher Materialien, durch Farbe und spezielle Beleuchtung wurde ein Ambiente ge-
schaffen, das weit entfernt ist vom üblichen Standard. Das Luftikus ist mehr ein Zuhause als ein Pflegeheim.
Die Gestaltungsidee für das Gebäude und die Raumgestaltung beruhen auf dem Grundgedanken, trotz aller
notwendigen medizintechnischen Einbauten ein wirkliches Zuhause für die Kinder zu schaffen. Es ist ge-
lungen, das hohe angestrebte Niveau umzusetzen, um so den Kindern und betroffenen Eltern ein Umfeld zu
schaffen, in dem sich alle wohlfühlen.
A PLACE TO TAKE A DEEP BREATH
The Luftikus children’s home is a care home for seriously ill children who require permanent
artificial respiration. Thanks to the use of natural materials, colour and special lighting an ambi-
ence was created that is far removed from the usual standard. The Luftikus is more like a home
than a care home.
The design idea for the building and the interior design is based on the basic philosophy of
creating a real home for the children despite all the necessary medical technical equipment. The
high standard aimed for – to create an environment for the affected children and their parents
where everyone can feel at home – has been successfully achieved.
