A mountain chalet in Switzerland

Circondato da un bellissimo bosco e dal paesaggio innevato

delle Alpi Lepantine, costruito con pietra e legno locali, lo chalet

dalla facciata sembra essere rimasto la stesso, ma all’interno

l’edificio rivela che è successo qualcosa di straordinario con

la sua veste moderna e contemporanea, grazie al sapiente

utilizzo di materiali di recupero, al gusto minimalista e all’uso

di impianti energetici autosuf

ficienti. Il legno è protagonista

assoluto degli spazi: definisce l’identità della casa, da forma

e carattere a pavimenti, mobili e soffitto. Tutto questo legno

caratterizza l’estetica (ricercata) di ispirazione alpina, ma, allo

stesso tempo, attribuisce un tocco moderno agli ambienti

con la sua presenza intensa. Il legno è stato combinato con

altri materiali come il ferro con finitura rustica e la pietra

ricostruita Pietre d’Arredo, modello Java. Questi, insieme,

danno vita ad un’estetica che combina il carattere rustico

con il design d’avanguardia. Pensato su misura come un

abito confezionato a mano, il progetto di ripensamento degli

spazi è così sartoriale: tutto, curato nel minimo dettaglio,

è

disegnato per abitare perfettamente la montagna, tra pareti

di pietra, legno di recupero, vetro e dettagli in ferro antico.

Surrounded by a gorgeous forest and the snow-covered

landscape of the Lepontine Alps, built from local stone

and wood, the chalet’s fa

çade gives the impression that it

has never changed, but the building’s interior reveals that

something extraordinary has happened with its modern and

contemporary look, thanks to the skilful use of reclaimed

materials, minimalist taste and the use of self-sufficient

energy systems. Wood is the undisputed star of the spaces: it

defines the identity of the home, giving form and character to

floors, furniture, and ceilings. All this wood characterises the

(sophisticated) Alpine-inspired aesthetics, but at the same

time lends a modern touch to the rooms with its intense

presence. Wood has been combined with other materials,

such as iron with a rustic finish and reconstructed stone

of Pietre d’Arredo, Java model. These, together, create an

aesthetic that combines rustic character with avant-garde

design. Tailor-made like a hand-made suit, the project to

redesign the spaces has just such a sartorial character:

everything, down to the smallest detail, is designed to

perfectly inhabit the mountain, amidst stone walls, reclaimed

wood, glass, and antique iron details.
