SOSTITUZIONE TENUTE SERIE 19.000 (Fig. 5)

a. Rimuovere la valvola dalla conduttura.

b. Togliere le viti (1) che fissano lo stelo alla lama.

c. Togliere le viti (2) che fissano le colonne (3) al corpo (4).

d. Rimuovere la parte superiore della valvola.

e. Rimuovere la guarnizione (5) di tenuta della lama. Verificarne le

condizioni e se necessario sostituirla.

f. Rimuovere i dadi (6) e quindi rimuovere il premistoppa (7).

Rimuovere i prigionieri (8) può facilitare le operazioni successive.

g. Rimuovere le guarnizioni dalla camera del premistoppa.

h. Collocare il nuovo kit di tenuta (9). Inserire una guarnizione per

volta nella camera del premistoppa avendo cura che i

due lati del taglio combacino senza sovrapporsi. Inserire i successivi

strati alternando sui due lati la posizione del taglio

(vedi fig. 5a).

i. Rimontare i prigionieri (8) ed il premistoppa (7). Avvitare i dadi (6) a

mano fino al contatto con il premistoppa, quindi

serrare di un ulteriore mezzo giro. Serrare i dadi in croce.

j. Completare l’assemblaggio della valvola seguendo i punti d●c●b●a.

k. Ingrassare la vite e madrevite con grasso neutro idrorepellente

(ad es. grasso al silicone o Molykote).

l. Alla messa in funzione della valvola controllare la tenuta tra lama

e corpo nella parte superiore della valvola.

Se si verificasse una perdita è possibile serrare ulteriormente i dadi

(6) di precarico del premistoppa fino all’eliminazione

della perdita.

IMPORTANTE: Una volta eliminata la perdita non continuare a strin-

gere i dadi del premistoppa. Un eccesso di pressione sul premistop-

pa porterebbe a una alta coppia di operazione delle valvole e ad un

deterioramento più rapido delle guarnizione.

REPLACING THE SEALS, SERIES 19.000 (fig. 5)

a. Dismantle the valve from the plant.

b. Remove the screws (1) fixing the stem to the gate.

c. Remove the screws (2) fixing the plates (3) to the body (5).

d. Remove the upper part of the valve.

e. Remove the gate seat (5). Check its condition, and replace it, if

necessary.

f. Remove the nuts (6) and then, the packing gland (7); removing the

stud bolts (8) might facilitate the next operation.

g. Remove the packing from its housing.

h. Put the new packing (9) in place. Insert the packing braids, one

by one, into the packing housing, ensuring that the two ends of each

seal match without overlapping and that the seal ends are placed with

their opposite sides alternating (see fig. 6a)

i. Install the stud bolts (8) and packing gland (7). Tighten the nuts (6)

by hand, until contact with the packing gland is established, and then

proceed with another 1⁄2 turn. Tighten the bolts crosswise.

j. Re-assemble the valve, carrying out points a-d above, in reverse

order.

k. Grease the screw and nut with neutral, water-repellent grease (for

example, silicone grease or Molykote).

l. Before putting the valve back into operation, check the seal betwe-

en the body and gate in the upper parts of the valve.

In the event of leaks, the packing adjustment nuts (6) may be tighte-

ned a little, until the leaks stop.

IMPORTANT: Once the leaks have stopped, do not continue to tighten

the nuts of the packing gland. Excess pressure on the packing gland

will result in a high operating torque of the valve, and cause the seal to

deteriorate more quickly.
