DESIGNER PORTRAIT BRAM BOLLEN

Bram Bollen was born in 1979 in Genk, Belgium. After

obtaining a Master degree at the Media & Design

Academy in Genk in 2004, Bollen started as a freelance

designer in the outdoor furniture industry. Throughout

the years he has developed creative solutions for both

professional and private customers. For Manutti, he

designed the linear and timeless Liner collection in

2009-2010. Bollen finds inspiration in architecture

and interior design. He is a master of simplicity and has

a keen eye for detail, giving his designs a contemporary

and refreshing feel.

DESIGNER PORTRAIT GERD COUCKHUYT

Gerd Couckhuyt (1970) is a Belgian designer who finds

inspiration in visual and emotional stimuli in everyday

life. In 2012, he created the Mood lounge and coffee

tables for Manutti, as well as the Loop chair and various

side tables. Two years later Manutti received the ‘Red

Dot Award for Product Design’ in the ‘Gardens -

Lounge Furniture’ category for the Elements collection

he designed in 2013. In 2014 he created the playful sofa

concept Moon Island.

DESIGNER PORTRAIT KOEN VAN EXTERGEM

Koen Van Extergem, born in 1989, is a young Belgian

designer with a pure, sober and detailed style which

he further refined during his studies in product

development and furniture design. Van Extergem joined

the Manutti design studio in 2013 and, together with

Stephane De Winter, developed a new generation of

lounge furniture in the shape of the Air collection.
